Old Outlet Cover To Shabby Swag

We recently repainted our kitchen and replaced all of the old outlet covers.  They were just sitting around collecting dust until I had a bright idea to make something out of them.  I wasn't sure where I was going with this but it all started with a coat of spray paint.

I let them sit idle for a few days until something sparked.  I was out at Target and found in their dollar section some push pins and some cute vinyl pieces with quotes.

I used the push pins for the holes and some scrap paper for the rectangle part of the outlet.  I used an Elmers glue stick to adhere the vinyl to the scrap paper and was happy that you could barely see that it was glued.  It went on clear and smooth without any chunks.  I used Elmer's Craft Bond glue spots for the scrap paper.  The Elmer's glue spots turned out to be excellent quality, and very strong dots.   This new line can be found at Walmart.

The orange scrap paper was my experimental one!   I ended up switching the colors to coordinate with the ribbon I used to tie it all together.  Not to shabby for some old outlet covers, huh?

Me likey, You likey?

Disclosure - I received  Elmers X Acto craft products from Bzz Agent to review in exchange for my honest opinion.  The opinions expressed are 100% my own.
